Welcome to the homepage of the “Gender, Forced Migration & the Politics of Reception: Processes of Gendered Inclusion and Exclusion in Lower Saxony” joint research project.

This joint research project analyzes the specific circumstances, processes, and public discourses related to the reception and integration of refugees in Lower Saxony. Four subprojects will empirically investigate how differentiations and inequalities surrounding specific opportunities and policies concerning forced migration and refuge are produced, and which conflicts and contradictions emerge.

This project runs from 2017 to 2020 and is funded by the Ministry for Science and Culture of Lower Saxony (MWK) in the framework of the “Gender – Power – Knowledge” program.
